The Secret Of The Owl Rock

This is the secret behind this owl rock! (Made by doing the hot rock craft)

The owl which is a barn owl, (scientific name: Tyto Alba) is the main character of the book I'm writing, called Owls Of Sacred Forest.

Barn owls are my absolute favourite owls. I just love their heart shaped faces.

Barn Owl Facts

Barn owls are odd in a way- They don't hoot like other owls, they make shreeing shrieks.
Barn owls are almost totally silent!
They have very good hearing.
They like to hang out near farms, fields and woodlands.

Hot Rocks

How to make hot rocks:

Materials

Thin, flat and pale rocks
Cookie sheet
Tinfoil
Oven
Crayons
Oven Mitts
A place to draw

1. Find flat rocks. Thin, flat rocks. The whiter, the better. Preferably ones that don't tilt to one side.
2. Get a cookie sheet with tin foil.
3. Preheat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit.
4. Put rocks on the tin foil and put it in the oven.
5. While the rocks are heating up, take the wrappers off some crayons that you will use to draw with.
6. When the rocks are done, take them out WITH OVEN MITTS. CAUTION THEY ARE VERY HOT!
7. Find a nice place to sit down to draw on the rocks.
8. DO NOT TOUCH THE ROCKS WITHOUT AN OVEN MITT!
9. You can use my rocks as examples.

A Leopard Lizard

I went to a HUGE AVIARY in Niagara Falls!

I saw birds, lizards, snakes, bats, trantulas and even owls. They even had 2 aviaries. One of them is HUGE! One of them is tiny. There was a mini room where you can get your photo with the a parrot that had this li'l guy. In the big aviary there was a lokeet cage where you can feed the lokeets with nectar. One of lokeets kinda got bored and decided to try to eat my dad's orange shirt.

Maki (or Macky) the Potato

This is Maki The Potato.

It was really fun to make Maki. I found a nice flat rock and some driftwood with some small pebbles. I found some water weed for his orangey reddish hair. I know you are wondering about his nose because the driftwood kept unbending.
